Waking up in the morning,
with a soft warm light that rises up slowly like a sunrise.

A while before the alarm rings,
the towel warmer turns on,
reheating the towel, and the bathroom,
to help you start the day.

Construct your own system

  • Install one room-manager in each zone to manage, for example, in the living room or in the bedrooms.
  • Install one control module for each device to manage. For example, a dimmer for the lamps, or a power-switch for the electric heaters.
  • The room managers communicate among themselves and with the control-modules using a network called PoliNet.

Ask the right questions
About a home-automation system, before adopting one.

  • What will it do for me? Is it really automatic? Is it really intelligent?
  • Is it easy to use? Does it have a user-friendly interface?
  • Is it flexible, and scalable? And if I want to add another room, or just another lamp?
  • What is the level of integration? Is it just a bunch of independent modules, or is it an integrated, well organized system?
  • Is the system robust? Is there one central element that can breakdown? If one unit broke down, will the whole house becomes paralyzed?
  • Is it easy to install? Do I have to do big renovation works to install it?Can I just call a local "electrician" for the maintenance?
  • In case of moving, or sale of the house, can I un-install the system easily? Is the existing electrical installation still operational?

Ask the right questions
About a home-automation system, before adopting one.

  • What will it do for me? Is it really automatic? Is it really intelligent?
The room-service system turns on lights when it's necessary, and turn them off when you don't need them anymore, keep the temperature warm when you're present, and save energy when you're away. It is an automatic and autonomous system.
  • Is it easy to use? Does it have a user-friendly interface?
In a few touches you can control the whole house. The room manager informs you on any initiative that it takes, with intuitive messages like "It's getting dark, I turn on the light". Your house become a communicative-house.
  • Is it flexible, and scalable? And if I want to add another room, or just another lamp?
You can start with just one room-manager to manage the whole house, and you can add one on each room where and when you deem necessary. You can simply add a module to a lamp, heater and even rolling-shutter.
  • What is the level of integration? Is it just a bunch of independent modules, or is it an integrated, well organized system?
The room-managers in the same house talks to each other to synchronize their work, for example, the one in the living-room will inform the others in the bedrooms of your arrival, so they may raise the thermostat . It is a cooperative system where each unit remains independent, but all communicate to each other to serve you better.
  • Is the system robust? Is there one central element that can breakdown? If one unit broke down, will the whole house becomes paralyzed?
In a room-service system, a fault is always an isolated case, so you can always reassign immediately the management of the devices to another room-manager.
  • Is it easy to install? Do I have to do big renovation works to install it?Can I just call a local "electrician" for the maintenance?
Yes! an electrician, or a good do-it-yourself guy would do properly the installation without problem. Most of the products are simply plugged into an electric-outlet. You don't need to do renovation works for the installation. No new wiring, the system uses the existing electrical installation.
  • In case of moving, or sale of the house, can I un-install the system easily? Is the existing electrical installation still operational?
Yes! you can uninstall the system easily. In case you move out, you can always bring it with you. However, wouldn't you be able to raise the value of the house with such an intelligent home automation system? Think about it!
