Different operating modes according to your presence
The room manager is aware of your presence in the room. That's how it is able to manage heating, lighting and other appliances appropriately, as necessary, when you are there, and when you're away. According to your presence, the room manager runs different operating modes, in which you can configure applications and appliances in different manner:
In room mode: You can set the lights and heating at comfortable level the way you like it when you're present in the room.
Sleep mode: Setting to be applied when you're asleep in this room.
At-home mode: Set the ambiance when you're elsewhere around the house.
Night mode, when everybody has gone to bed, you can save energy by setting for lower temperature, and if you wish, you can also leave a night light on.
Away mode, settings to save energy during your absent.
Vacation mode, for longer absence, the room manager may help you save energy further, it is best however, to keep temperature just above freezing level.
Imagine waking up in the morning with a soft warm lights that gradually rise up just like the sunrise....
As the Sunrise Simulator wakes you up softly, the alarm melody is just there to remind you that it is time to get off bed.
A while earlier, the preheat function has already turned on the bathroom heater so that the bathroom and the towel will be warm when you actually get up. And all through the morning time, the bedroom will be brightly lit, to keep the ambient up. The MorningCall is one of room-service application designed to help you start the day.
There are other applications that can run simultaneously within the room manager:
Autoheating: A thermostat program to manage heaters based on your presence, to save energy when you're not there, to keep you warm when you're around.
Autolighting: Lights on when you're there, when it's necessary, and off when you're away.
You can download new applications into the room manager. More applications are available and more are on the way.
Daisy is ingénovie's first room-manager. She's responsible for managing heating, lighting and other appliances in the room. Not bigger than a compact disk, she sits simply on a desk, coffee table, or you can have it mounted on the wall if you prefer, with the wallmount version Wally.
The room manager controls heating and lighting by sending commands to the smaller modules LiSwitch and PoSwitch. Learn more about other features and also Liswitch and Poswitch that helps Daisy to manage the room...
Room managers and other small modules simply plug into a wall outlet. Only the PoSwitch needs to be installed in place of a cable exit behind the radiator.
No extra wiring, no renovation works, the existing electrical installation can be used.
Whole house coverage. The room manager and the smaller modules talks to each other using powerline networking. Therefore all electrical appliances can be controlled individually.
Safety fallback! With room service system, your existing electrical wiring is still operational. Moreover, each room-manager is an independent unit, as it's not a centralized system, so failure in one room does not lead to another.
Starts small wherever you'd like, and grow as you deem necessary
You decide where to start installing the room-services, and you can grow the system as you deem necessary. Most will start from the living room, so that the room-manager can lights up the room and warm the house as you return from work. Other rooms can then benefit from the heating regulation and the energy saving just by installing PoSwitch behind each radiator.
We've published a few demo videos and installations on the Youtube website. Just a few minutes to show you that the installation is really as simple as that, and it is even easier to use.
Scenario:
In the beginning the house is empty, the shutters are closed and the lights are off.
Daisy detect the return of the habitant, and she turns on the light.
After a few minutes of presence, Daisy switch to present mode, in which she opens the shutter (and raise the thermostat during winter).
While opening the shutter, observing that the daylight is still enough, Daisy then turns off the lamp.
At night fall, Daisy turns on the light again when the room becomes too dark. (the habitant remains present).
Ingénovie opens a new
frontier in building automation / energy management.
Presenting via-Ingénovie:
De-centralized energy management system offering considerable functional
and economical benefits compared to traditional building automation system :
Decentralized / Distributed System,
that continues to operate even when the server or network is down.
IP Network +
Powerline (Carrier-current) system : It uses existing electrical installation, and local area network infrastructure
that may already exist in most building, simplifying installation and maintenance.
Intelligent energy
management according to user presence and environment. You define
the parameters, and the system will apply them automatically according to
the appropriate context.
Easy to use Web
interface, accessible from any computer, or through the internet.
Target applications:
Hotels, service
apartments and hospitals: All facilities with rooms where guests
come and go, our system can automate the energy saving while assuring
the comfort when the guest is present.
Small buildings,
offices, medical centers, or old buildings: All buildings where new
wiring to each appliance (radiators or air-conditioners) is not
feasible: All applications where traditional wired-automation system
can not enter for technical installation difficulties or economical
reasons.
Rented offices: Move
along the energy-management system when the company change address!
This is unthinkable with traditional automation system.
Ingénovie is looking for
partners to commercialize our new system: Look at these
air-conditioners or electrical radiators around you: there are energy
saving we can make. Wherever you are in the world, if you happens to
have such project, or would like to explore these opportunities,

How much saving do I make by installing the Room-Service home automation system in my home?
The answer is not simple at all, because it depends on many things.
First of all, your habit to begin with: If you turn off the heaters and lights as you leave the room, and all other heaters and lights, room by room, before you leave home, or going to bed, well your room-manager (Daisy or Wally) can help you to do all that automatically, but they won't do any better in term of saving energy.
If your're any less "activist", like the rest of the population, the Room-Service home automation system can give you a considerable energy saving, effortlessly.

Democratically, you've expressed your wish to have the rolling shutter / shades managed by the room manager. (28.8% winter polls 2007)
Your wish is our command!
Here is the Remo V (RMV101) - Relay Module for motorized rolling shutter / shade.
When nobody is detected in the house, Daisy (or Wally) take the initiative to close the shutter while waiting for your return.
And as soon as you arrive, the room manager can raise the shutter to let the daylight in.
For further security, you can also configure it such that openning of shutters should only be done manually, by touching one of the keys on the room-manager.
Do you know?
A closed shutter can reduce heat loss up to 60%! A double-layered window with shutter open loss more energy than a single-layered window with a shutter closed !
A closed shutter during your absences can reinforce the security of the house.
